Please Read the section below before you start your banner:

  1. The material that is being provided is larger than required, this will allow you to adjust the material by size (by hemming or cutting).
    • You must use the provided material for this banner.
    • Use only the whitest side of material
    • Banners are only one side this year
    • The banner must measure 28 inches wide, 38 inches long when finished
    • Your group name must appear on the banner
  2. All banners must be returned to the committee by August 30, 2009, by 5:00 PM.  See member's names and phone numbers below.
  3. This is the 15th aniversary for this contest.  To date 226 flags/banners have been made.  Many are now displayed in area churches.
    • Please Note:  The Vespers Service will be having a pizza party for all banner participants, and will be held in the area close to the stage.  The pizza party will be completed before the message by comedian Gordon Douglas.
    • We must know how many will be in your group (no limit on attendance).  Your group leader must contact Carole D. Ovelman at 458-5876 or Pizza part chair Patti Roberts at 387-0532.
This banner contest is part of the 2009 Vespers Service


All entrants will be requested to display their banner at the Vespers Service on Friday September 25, 2009, as part of the service.

Rules:

  • Entries are open to:  Children's Sunday school classes, vacation bible schools, all Scout groups, all 4-H groups, Veterans groups, Farm Organization Youth Groups and this year adults group.  There are three age groups in this contest.  All participants must be present to display their banners.
  • The theme is: "He Touched Me"
  • The theme must appear on the banner along with group name.
  • All groups who request material for this contest must make a banner or return the material.  Groups may use any material they wish to embellish the flag.
  • Age class entires will recieve prize award and ribbon as placed by the judges.

Please Note:

  • If you're using glue to hold items on the banner material make sure that they are secure.  Your group might consider painting, quilting, drawing or silk screening.  We are not responsible for any object dropping off the material.  Use your own judgment.

Entries will be judged by an independent agency

Banners will be on display in the Arts and Craft Building during fair week.  Banners will not be released the night the fair ends.

All banners will be at the coordinators home after fair.  You can pick them up at:
